Wat Buddha Adelaide: A Centre for Buddhist Teachings and Meditation Over the past five years, Wat Phra Dhammakaya Melbourne has organised monthly meditation functions in Adelaide, held on the first Sunday of each month. These initiatives have inspired a dedicated community of practitioners who are committed to establishing a permanent Buddhist temple in the city.

Currently, Wat Buddha Adelaide operates from a temporary location at 57A Prospect Rd, Prospect, SA 5082, where it continues to facilitate religious activities, offer teachings, and host various Buddhist events. The temple is actively seeking a suitable site for its permanent establishment. The resident monk, Phra Maha Choopong Dhammiko (Phra Ajahn Choopong), provides spiritual guidance and leadership to the growing community.

Wat Buddha Adelaide is dedicated to promoting Buddhist teachings, with a strong emphasis on the law of karma, generosity, ethical conduct, and meditation. Its mission is to make these teachings accessible not only to the Thai community but also to individuals from all backgrounds who seek a deeper understanding of Buddhist principles. The temple places particular importance on meditation practice as a pathway to inner peace, upholding the belief that “World Peace Through Inner Peace” is the foundation for a more harmonious society.
